The Story of Captain B. It was a very late humid night on the Intracoastal Waterway heading north, just south of the Hillsboro Inlet, when on my boat Legal Tender (a 1999 Aquasport with twin 200hp Evinrudes), one of the engines suddenly stops without any warning. The engine would not start and was dead. “That is why I have two engines,” I remember telling the other two souls on board. Of course not ten minutes later, the second engine suddenly dies without warning. I turned to my friend Ricky and asked him to head to the bow (the front of the boat) to drop the anchor as I reached out to TowBoat US (AAA for boaters) on the radio. My friend Ricky responded by saying, “Aye-Aye Captain B.” Ever since that fateful night, I have been known as “Captain B.”
